Devlog 1.1.3 : For Playtesters
Hey Everyone,
I'm back with another update to share some of the progress and decisions I've made this week for our game. It's been a busy but rewarding time, focusing on enhancing player interaction and extending an invitation to those interested in becoming more involved with the game's development.
Introducing the Leaderboard
A significant addition this week has been the creation of a leaderboard for our players. This leaderboard is designed to recognize both the time taken to explore our worlds and the points collected during these explorations. Initially, I toyed with the idea of implementing a drop countdown to complete levels. However, I realized that imposing such time constraints might detract from the game's core essence, which is about peaceful and contented exploration. In keeping with the spirit of the game, I've given the leaderboard a new look that aligns with our theme of relaxed adventure.
Furthermore, I've decided to personally manage and curate the leaderboard instead of using server access. This approach will allow me to maintain a closer connection with the game's community and ensure that the leaderboard reflects the friendly and explorative nature of the game.
Calling All Playtesters
Over the past few weeks, I've been reaching out to individuals about playtesting the game, and I'm extending this invitation to you as well. If the idea of exploring serene forests and vibrant cities from the comfort of your couch appeals to you, and you're interested in contributing to the game's development through playtesting, I'd love to get in touch. Your feedback will be invaluable in shaping the game into an experience that everyone can enjoy.
Demo Version Developments
In preparation for playtesting and to give everyone a taste of the adventure that awaits, I've focused on refining the demo version of the game. Some levels have been specifically tailored for this demo, offering a glimpse into the world of our game. The new build that I've uploaded includes roughly 25-30% of level 1, crafted to provide a meaningful and enjoyable experience while leaving plenty of surprises for the full version.
Thank you all for your continued support and interest in the game. Your enthusiasm fuels my passion for development, and I'm excited about the journey we're on together. Stay tuned for more updates, and please reach out if you're interested in playtesting.
Regards,
Super Dam
